WE'RE BACK

Hello!! Firstly, a big apology from our behalf for being away for so long. We've both been so busy with work, and then boom, it's been a year since we last posted. Life's been a bit of a whirlwind for us, my career in fashion has gone from Jane Norman, to Topshop and now I currently work at Quiz! You'll probably notice a lot of our future posts may feature clothes from these stores quite heavily, but with my hefty staff discount, you can't blame me buying what are now for me cheap clothes.

Now, where were we?! My favourite trends of S/S15 are lace, pastel colours and floral print. So as soon as I saw this co-ordinate crop top and skirt in our delivery at work (Quiz), I just HAD to have it. Co-ordinates have been the height of high street fashion for the last couple of years. Although together they do sometimes cost more than a one piece dress, you can mix and match them with other garments in your wardrobe for a range of occasions. So paying that little bit extra is always worth it. I quite offend make this look more causal by swapping the skirt for a pair of high-waisted jeans, or wear a basic cami and tuck it into the skirt.

As this dress features a lot of floral detail, I decided not to add any accessories. I feel that if you did want to add additional pieces of jewelry with this look, I would stick to something small, delicate and a light pastel colour. To finish this look off, I wore a pair of white chunky heels from New Look. A thick heel is always ideal if you want to wear a pair of heels while you are out and about outdoors. That means no more sinking into the ground when you walk across the grass. As well as this, the straps across the feet and around the ankles add extra support when walking across an uneven surface. This outfit is perfect if you're in a rush and want to look fabulous in a flash. You know the top and skirt perfectly match, then pop on a pair of plain white heels and you're ready to go!

WORKING 9 TO 5

What I love about my job at Jane Norman is that I can bring my own style to my work clothes each day. With the shop covered in bright and colourful clothes for the summer, I knew I needed to reflect this in my work wear. Dressing smartly doesn't mean you can't have fun with the clothes you pick. Bright colours, patterns and textures can all be played with to create great smart style. As seen on many of the catwalks during London Fashion Week, I decided to stick to a bright colour for today's look.

Waterfall blazers are the height of fashion this season and this detail can be found on other garments such as jackets. The colour coral has regularly been seen throughout many high street stores in the recent months. What is great about this colour is that it is a bright colour, ideal for this season, without being too vibrant. To balance out this colour, I've decided to stick to monochrome colours for the rest of the outfit. Being an outfit for work, I always choose leggings or jeggings over jeans. Comfort and flexibility is important as I am constanstly bending down sorting clothes and running up and down ladders. Ballet pumps are also great for the work place as they are subtle yet practical while being on your feet all day.

LONDON FASHION WEEK

London Fashion Week is one of our favourite events that we always look forward to. A week dedicated to fashion, models and catwalks is our idea of heaven. As well as this, an additional weekend is added onto the end of LFW for even more fashion. This week witnessed the bold, the bright and Kellogg's cereal brands (We're not kidding, check out Anya Hindmarch AW14 collection). Being a big fan of sequins, one of our personal favourites was a collection designed by Zeyne Kartal. We also fell in love with Ashley Williams collection while watching the models strut down the catwalk.

All in all we both wished that we could afford all the clothes we saw on the catwalks. We can also safely say that designers defiantly thought outside the box when it came to inspiration this season. Above are a few snaps that we took during both London Fashion Week and London Fashion Weekend. Now all we have to do is wait until September to do it all over again.

A CITY PARK

February is here and it is time to think about our Spring wardrobe. This may come as a bit of a shock to us English folk as it is currently dark, cold, windy and pouring with rain outside. However, in the high street shops winter wear is making it's way to the sale rails and the S/S 14 clothing is being placed on the manikins in the shop windows. Although at the moment when we step out the house we're equipped with hat, scarf, coat and umbrellas, they always say preparation is key. So it's time to 'prepare' for the coming season ... and it's any excuse for another shopping spree.

This outfit is a good way to dress up a LBD. I think a LBD is an universal piece as you can dress it up in many ways for a range of occasions. A light denim jacket is great for the Spring time weather. It will keep you warm if the weather is still slightly chilly, while not being too bulky or thick. Add a long scarf and allow it to hang down over the jacket. I have chosen a light coloured scarf with black hearts as I feel it works well with this outfit. This light colour matches the lightness of the jacket while keeping it suitable for spring, and the black hearts match the LBD. Finish the outfit with simple white Vans to keep it looking casual.

ST. PETER'S

Photos by Laura Howell

Visiting Vatican City was our last adventure while in Rome. We spent the morning exploring their museum and then decided to take the climb up St. Peter's Basilica. Half way up there was a viewing balcony that looking into the church. This building is ruled by The Pope and is still one of the largest churches in the world. This snug outfit is great at keeping you warm during the winter months. I decided to buy this jumper in a much larger size as I felt it would be more cosy and comfortable to wear. To give you an idea on the size, I am a UK size 6 and this jumper is a UK size 12. I think jeans are the best garment to pair with the jumper as it keeps it casual. Lastly I added Ugg Boots as they add even more comfort to this look.

After walking up a total of over 500 steps, we made it to the top of St. Peters to see a breath-taking view. You could see the whole of St. Peter's Square and the beautiful buildings across Rome. Unfortunately after a short while, we had to take the walk back down to the ground as it was time to catch a plane back to rainy England. Ciao for now Rome!
